Launching a boat is easy with 3 launch sites; Westcott Beach State Park, Henderson Town Boat Launch and the Stony Creek Boat Launch. There are 8 Marinas offering covered boat slips, boat repair and boat fuel. Henderson Harbor is a popular safe harbor for traveling boaters and sailors during inclement weather. Henderson is well known for its water recreation, but this area also offers a multitude of opportunities for recreation on land as well. Miles of hiking trails, camping, RV park, road biking, mountain biking, bird watching, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and hunting. Henderson boasts three state parks and a wildlife management area within its boundaries, all offering varied recreational opportunities, Westcott Beach State Park, Robert Wehle State Park and Southwick beach State Park. The Black Pond Wildlife management area is a 526 acre natural wetland complex consisting of a barrier beach, sand dunes, open water, emergent marsh and woodland shrub swamp... lakeshore barrier beach and wetland complexes such as this are rare in New York State...in recognition of this, the area has been designated as a significant coastal fish and wildlife habitat by the New York Department of State. Our dual townships, Henderson and Henderson Harbor, are on the Great Lakes Seaway Trail, a 518 mile American Byway that follows Lake Ontario extends to the St. Lawrence River.
