Henderson boasts three State Parks and a Wildlife management area within its boundraries, all offering varied recreational opportunities; Westcott Beach State Park, Robert Wehle State Park and Southwick beach State Park. The Black Pond Wildlife management Area is a 526 acre natural wetland complex consisting of a barrier beach,sand dunes, open water, emergent marsh and woodland shrub swamp... lakeshore barrier beach and wetland complexes such as this are rare in New York State...in recognition of this, the area has been designated as a significant coastal fish and wildlife habitat by the New York Department of State.
Henderson Harbor is on the Great Lakes Seaway Trail, a 518 mile American Byway that follows Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River.
