Henderson Harbor is a Great Port of Entry into the Eastern Basin of Lake Ontario
The Eastern Basin of Lake Ontario is known for its world class fishing offering opportunities for salmon (king & coho) with fish reaching 20-30 lb. steelhead trout and brown trout in the 6-14 lb. range and lake trout that commonly reach the 16-20 lb. size. Walleye routinely run from 6-8 lb. with an honest shot at a 10 lb. class fish on any given trip. Northern Pike are available from 30-35” with some as large as 45” taken throughout the season. Pickerel are plentiful reaching the 3-5 lb. size with the Henderson Harbor currently holding the International Game Fish Associations (IGFA) world record for the all-tackle length record pickerel caught and released in December of 2019, by Captain Burnie Haney of New York Fishing Adventures. Henderson Harbor also provides quality perch fishing for those so inclined and of course the feisty smallmouth bass which reach 4-6 lb. and roam the Eastern Basin year around. Our smallmouth fishing is so good in Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River that it’s been named on the Bassmasters’ Top 100 Bass Fishing Destinations routinely falling in the top ten and we hit the #1 spot as recently as this 2021 calendar year.
Henderson Harbor offers a fleet of Charter Boat Captains specializing in trolling the big waters for trophy fish as well as Captains specializing in rod-in-hand angling techniques for bass, walleye, perch, pickerel, and northern pike. Our Captains know these waters and work hard to stay on the active bite in pursuit of their client’s trophy catch. Some Captains offer corporate packages for large parties or executive retreats while others specialize in one-on-one instruction with a more species select approach.
No matter what you are looking for, Henderson Harbor provides quality angling opportunities. If you’re more adventurous, own your own boat and a do-it-yourself kind of angler the Harbor offers easy access to the entire Eastern Basin.
