TOWN OF HENDERSON
SEWER DISTRICT NO. 1

The Planning and Design of Henderson Sewer District No. 1 has begun!

The Town has agreed to provide public sanitary sewers to Sewer District No. 1,
consisting of the Hamlet of Henderson, Henderson Harbor, Route 178, Eastman
Tract, Bayshore Drive, and some adjacent areas. The Septic Tank Effluent
Pumping System (STEP) was the selected treatment process along with a
Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Waste Water Treatment Plant. The STEP System
utilizes low pressure sewers as the preferred and most cost effective method for
sanitary sewer collection. In STEP systems, wastewater flows into a conventional
septic tank to capture the solids. The liquid effluent flows into an integrated
holding tank containing a filter, a pump and control devices. The effluent is then
pumped to the MBR.

GYMO Land Surveyors Austin Key and Zach Scordo have started collecting
exterior data on existing residential and commercial buildings, roadways, water,
septic systems, and other visible utilities as well as locations of existing houses,
commercial facilities, trees, pools, patios, decks, garages, etc. This data
collection will occur over the next several months.

In addition, GYMO Engineering has teamed up with Scott Monroe and Jeff Harris
from Michigan to collect existing septic system and utility data and site future
locations of the proposed STEP Systems. Scott and Jeff will knock on doors to
interview home and business owners regarding their existing sewer systems,
water systems, electrical systems and determine locations of the new STEP
Systems.

Our schedule goal is to begin construction of the project in April 2023 and
conclude in December 2024.

Please be patient with us and assist our Land and Utility surveyors in any way
you can to make our project run smoother.
